Grand Openings...

Head Chef Olgar Umbabzi opened Cafe Du Ryan’s Lancaster location, formerly located at 325 North Queen Street, Apt 307 in 1991, and loyally served his famous French seafood creations for years.

Olgar Umbabzi, former head chef at Cafe du Ryan, trained in the Swiss Alps, and was burned to a crisp in the 2025 terrible fire. He is pictured here before the fire engulfed his face and body, killing him.

…And Even Grander Closings

A great and terrible fire erupted at the flagship North American location in the summer of 2025. There were, tragically, no survivors.

Had I not burned to death in the inferno that claimed the lives of me and my fellow diners, I’d eat at Cafe du Ryan every day!

Our Owner

Little is known about Sally Anne Yvjennis prior to her involvement with Cafe du Ryan, including where she was born, what she did, and how she got her hair to look like that where it’s like just the top layer that is blonde but it’s dark underneath?
